Hasbro Studios has announced that they are currently producing a new animated series based on the Micronauts. For those who are unaware, the Micronauts was a series of toys released by Mego in 1976. The toyline was based on the Microman toyline that was created by Takara in 1974. An animated series was planned to be produced by the joint team of AGE, Annex Entertainment, Gribouille and Kaleidoscope Media Group in 1998, however it was shortly cancelled. The official Takara Tomy website has updated with the reveal of the next Transformers Legends LG-EX releases. The new two releases are LG-EX Grand Maximus and LG-EX Greatshot. Those who are unaware both characters made their debut appearance in the second season of the Japanese Transformers G1 trilogy, Super God Masterforce. LG-EX Grand Maximus will be released next March priced at 25,000 Yen and it seems that if there are more than 3,000 orders than they will also release it with a bonus pretender shell. LG-EX Greatshot is set to release next March priced at 8,500 Yen.
Takara Tomy has recently revealed that they will be reissuing Transformers Generations Metroplex. Transformers Legends LG – EX Metroplex will include all the contents of the previous release and is set to be released in January 2018 priced at 27,000 Yen. The figure will include: Scamper Large Blasters X 2 Blaster X 2 The original Japanese version of Metroplex was released by Takara Tomy in 2013 so it is great to see the figure get reissued to go alongside Trypticon.
Recently new images of the upcoming Transformers Legends releases have surfaced online, which reveals a first look at the next releases in the line. Recently images of the upcoming Transformers MP-40 Targetmaster Hot Rodimus aka Hot Rod have surfaced online. The new images feature that the latest version of the character will feature a new paint scheme along with his Targetmaster Firebolt. The figure will also feature a new slot that will allow Firebolt to be able to attach to his vehicular mode. Transformers MP-40 Targetmaster Hot Rodimus will be released in February 2018.
Recently new Figure-oh scans have surfaced online, which reveal the new Transformers Masterpiece figure that will be released by Takara Tomy. The next Masterpiece figure will be Sunstreaker. While the figure is pretty close in design to Masterpiece Sidewipe (for obvious reasons), it will feature a brand new transformation scheme. The scans also reveal that he will include Chip Chase, several weapons, and the mask he wore during the episode “, Hoist Goes Hollywood,” from the original Transformers series. Currently no other details are confirmed at this time so stay tuned for updates.
Autobase Aichi on twitter has recently revealed official images of the upcoming Transformers Takara Legends figures. The latest reveals include: LG-44 Sharkticon with Sweeps LG-45 Hot Rodimus LG-46 Char (Kup) Both LG-45 Hot Rodimus & LG-46 Char (Kup) will retail for 4,320 Yen and LG -44 Sharkticon will retail for 2160 Yen. All three figures will be released this September.
The Dengeki Hobby website has updated with the announcement of the next Transformers Masterpiece release. The next release in the line will be MP-38 Beast Wars Supreme Commander Optimus Primal. Unlike the previous version of Masterpiece Optimus Primal, this version is based on his appearance in “Beast Wars II Super Robot Life Transformer Convoy The Crisis!” MP-38 Beast Wars Supreme Commander Optimus Primal will be released on June 16 priced at 12,960 Yen. The figure will include: Skull Flail Cyber Blades Double Blade Beast Face Robot Face Beast Mask Weapon Rack Character Card
Recently it has been revealed by various online retailers that Takara will be releasing LG42 Transformers Legends God Bomber based on the character in Transfomers Masterforce. The figure will be compatible with LG35 Super Ginrai, however due to the retooled parts of the the figure it is most likely not compatible with Hasbro Powermaster Optimus Prime. The figure is retailing for $69.99 so check out your favorite online retailer and secure your preorder.
Interesting news appeared earlier today, when Takara Tomy revealed a new teaser page for Zoids. The page alludes to a new upcoming project for the franchise which has fans questioning if it’s new manga series, anime, or video game as well as proper infighting on which era/anime was the best. Similar to some of the other Takara Legends Titan Returns figures, these will include the extra repainted Titanmaster vehicles. LG32 Chromedome LG33 Highbrow LG34 Mindwipe Preorders for the items are currently available at several online retailers such as BBTS and TFSource.
Amazon Japan has recently posted official images of the highly demanded Takara Legends LG-31 Fortress Maximus. The Takara version of Fortress Maximus sports a more G1 cartoon accurate deco and also features a new head for “Cerebros.” Unfortunately, the weapons / other accessories are not revealed at this time so stay tuned for updates.
