Shout Factory Announces Halo Legends Anthology Release

Shout Factory has announced that they will be releasing the Halo Legends Anthology in North America.  For those who are unaware the Halo Legends Anthology is a collection of short anime films centered around the Halo franchise. The films were produced by various animation teams, which include: Bee Train, Bones, Casio Entertainent, Production I.G., Studio 4, Studio 4°C, and Toei Animation.  The series was directed by Frank O’ Conner and Joseph Chou.  The films were originally released by Warner Bros. in 2010 so it has been quite some time that there were available on the market. Toonami Announces Attack on Titan Season 2 Premiere Date

The official Toonami Facebook page has recently been updated with a new schedule for the block starting on April 15.   The following week will feature the premiere of the second season of Attack on Titan.  The second season will premiere on April 22 at 12:30am EST. 


Crunchyroll To Stream Attack on Titan Season 2

Crunchyroll has announced that they will be streaming the second season of the Attack on Titan anime series. Atom the Beginning Premiere Date & Cast Details Revealed

The official website for the Atom the Beginning anime series has updated with the cast details and premiere date for the series.  The series will debut on Saturday, April 15 at 11:00 P.M. JPST on NHK and will later be available on Amazon Prime Japan starting at 1:30 A.M. JPST on Sunday, April 16. Netflix Announces Cyborg 009: Call of Justice Stream Date

Netflix has updated with the announcement that Cyborg 009: Call of Justice will be available on the service starting on February 10. Cyborg 009: Call of Justice was first announced to stream worldwide last December, however today the service has revealed the actual release date. The three part film series will be split into 12 episodes on Netflix. Netflix provided a short synopsis for the film series. Years after taking up normal lives incognito, the cyborgs are forced to fight again when the superhuman Blessed appears with a plan for humanity.

Today Netflix has announced that they will be streaming the Cyborg 009 Call of Justice films worldwide.  The films will first debut on the Japanese version of the service next Spring and they are set to release outside of Japan later in the year.  The three films will be split into 12 episodes.  


Funimation Licenses Attack on Titan Season 2

The official Toho Animation Youtube channel has recently updated with a new trailer for Cyborg 009: Call of Justice films.   The latest trailer features the team fighting against the Emperor. The trailer also features the main theme song for the film titled “, A.I. am Human,”  performed by Monkey Majik.  


Atom the Beginning Promo Streamed & Story Details Revealed

Tezuka Productions has recently opened an official website for the anime adaptation for the Atom the Beginning manga series.   The website revealed the first trailer for the anime series.  The series will launch in Japan in 2017.  The promo video features the tagline “, This is a previously untold ‘episode zero’ story leading up to the birth of Astro Boy.”  ANN provided a translation for the text featured in the trailer. Cyborg 009 Call of Justice Manga Adaptation Announced

It was recently announced by Comic Clear, a manga website owned by Kadokawa, that there will be a manga adaptation for the upcoming Cyborg 009 Call of Justice film. The manga will debut on the website on November 25 to coincide with the release of the first film.  The first chapter will launch on December 9 at 9 AM JST and will update with the following chapters on the second Friday of every month. The manga will be illustrated by Akhiro Kimura, which will be based on the scripts by Kenji Kamiyama, Ryou Higaki, Kurasumi Sunayama, and Harumi Doki.  


Kazuhiko Inoue Cast as Emperor In Cyborg 009 Call of Justice Film

It was recently announced at the Tokyo Film Festival during the worldwide premiere of Cyborg 009 Call of Justice that Kazuhiko Inoue is playing the Emperor.  Those who watched the 1979 anime series will know him as the voice of Cyborg 009/ Joe Shimamura. The official Cyborg 009 website has recently updated with the announcement that Yui Makino will be joining the cast of the upcoming Cyborg 009 Call of Justice film.  She will be playing  Lieutenant Katarina Canetti in the film.
