The Hollywood Reporter has recently reported that Stephen Daldry is in early talks to direct a standalone Star Wars film featuring Obi-Wan Kenobi. Since the talks are in a very early stage of development no other details about the project are known at this time. If the plan follows through the film will be joining the set of standalone Star Wars projects such as Rogue One and the upcoming Han Solo films. Other projects including films based on Yoda and Boba Fett are also currently in consideration. Rumors speculating that a film featuring Obi-Wan Kenobi have spread for some time soRead More
The main threat this episode, that the non-red, non-pink, and non-chef members of the Kyurangers were trapped inside a monster’s stomach having their blood slowly drained was pretty damn dark for Super Sentai. At least we had Balance there, once again forgetting the differences between robots and humans, to lighten the situation up a bit. In fact there was quite a lot of blood this week considering Tsurugi’s wounds were the main way to visualise his new mortality. If nothing else I suppose it raised the stakes and made itRead More
It was a pleasant surprise to have Eris back this episode considering most if not all of the good characters in this series are rangers. Even the mentor and characters who would normally be sidekicks or assistants, like Kotaro and Raptor, have their own suits, so it’s nice to have at least one helpful recurring character outside of the main circle. It was also just a good way to give everyone something to do, something that’ll become a lot harder now that we’ve reached a grand total of 12 rangers.Read More
Last episode was the debut of HououSoldier in battle but this episode was the real debut of the man inside the suit. We finally got to learn more about the character himself and, like most members of the Kyuranger cast, I could see him becoming a favourite of mine. His backstory about being the first person to travel beyond the moon 300 years ago not only gives us a rough idea of where abouts in history Kyuranger is supposed to take place but it gives him something unique to makeRead More
Deadline has reported that Pacific Rim Uprising’s premiere date has been pushed from February 23, 2018 to March, 23, 2018. The film stars Scott Eastwood, Jing Tian, Cailee Spaeny, Rinko Kikuchi, Burn Gorman, Adria Arjona and Charlie Day.

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that a rewrite is in the works for Star Wars Episode IX. To go along with the rewrite the team has added Jack Thorne to help with the script for the upcoming Star Wars sequel. According to the website’s sources, Jack Thorne will be revising the current script by director Colin Trevorrow and his writing partner, Derek Connolly, since “a fresh pair of eyes was needed.” Production for Star Wars Episode IX will start next January and the film is set to premiere on May 24, 2019. No other details are confirmed at this time so stay tuned forRead More
I love that this episode started with resolution rather than a pre-titles cliffhanger like normal. Starting with a problem to be solved works well to get the audience hooked but it’s nice to mix up the formula every now and then, and opening with the return of a character who apparently died is just as much of a hook. Because of the way Episode 21 starts, you could almost edit this together with 20 to create one seamless 45 minute story, and I can’t decide if that’s a good orRead More
Warner Brothers has announced the official premiere date for the Wonder Woman sequel film. The film is set to premiere on December 13, 2019, although it is possible the date may change over time. While there are talks about Patty Jenkins’ return as the director for the sequel currently it has not been confirmed that she will return at this time. Gil Gadot’s next appearance as Wonder Woman will be in the Justice League film this November, but it is nice to see when fans can expect to see the sequel to the standalone Wonder Woman film. Currently no other details are confirmedRead More

The pre-title sequence for this episode did a good job of raising the stakes and reminding us how alien Stinger is. Now that he’s left the Kyurangers, using the antares technique was a nice bit of alien culture that the two brothers share that both added to the worldbuilding of the series and showed that Stinger is now fighting on his own terms with his own distinct style. The initial fight between the two of them was pretty strong although after injecting himself with his own venom I expected StingerRead More
