Variety has reported that the new live-action film based on the Mortal Kombat game franchise is set to begin pre-production this month in Australia. Several news outlets have reported that Derek Mears is up to be portraying Swamp Thing in suit for the upcoming live-action series. For those who are not aware, Mears is most famous for starring as Jason Voorhees in the 2009 reboot of Friday the 13th. Today DC finally revealed the first details about the service The streaming service will be known as DC Universe, and will allow subscribers to have unlimited access to several exclusive content. Yesterday, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Patrick Wilson will be playing Arthur Curry’s brother, Ocean Master/Orm Curry, in the standalone Aquaman film. For those who aren’t familiar with his previous work, Patrick Wilson portrayed Nite Owl in the 2009 live action adaptation of the Watchmen. He will star alongside Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Amber Heard (Mera). The film is set to premiere in theaters on October 5, 2018.
