SDCC 2018: Mattel DC Exclusives Revealed

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed a first look at some of Mattel’s exclusives based on the DC Comics brand, which will be released at San Diego Comic Con 2018. First, Mattel will be releasing a special Hot Wheels set based on Superman Action Comics No. 1, which was released in 1938. As a homage to the cover, the set will feature a mini Superman figure holding up the iconic green sedan. First Look at Live-Action Aquaman’s Black Manta

Entertainment Weekly has revealed a first look at Black Manta in the upcoming live-action Aquaman film. While a full look of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in costume has not been shown, the photo reveals David Kane aka Black Manta working on his armor. Mattel Justice League Multiverse Toys Revealed

DC Entertainment has recently opened a new official website, which will feature news regarding products and various other types of media for the Justice League film.  The first major news the website revealed is a first look at the upcoming figures in Mattel’s DC Multiverse line based on the Justice League film.  The figures will be released to stores and online retailers on August 12. Justice League will premiere in theaters on November 17.

Warner Brothers has uploaded the first full trailer for the upcoming Justice League film on their official Youtube channel.  The trailer features a deeper look into the story of the film and also gives a brief introduction to the main heroes of the film.  Justice League will premiere in theaters on November 17. Warner Brothers Streams Justice League Teasers

Warner Brothers has updated their official Youtube channel with teasers for the Justice League film.  The full trailer will be revealed tomorrow, however they have shown several teasers in the meantime. The teasers feature a look at some of the heroes in the film which include Aquaman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg.   Justice League will premiere in theaters on November 17.   


Temuera Morrison In Talks To Join Aquaman Cast

Some big news from the DC front as veteran actor, Temuera Morrison, is currently in talks to joining the cast of the live action Aquaman film. Currently the cast includes Jason Momoa as the hero lead with support actors/actresses’ Amber Heard (Mera), Willem Dafoe (Dr. Vulko), and Patrick Wilson (Orm).  Nicole Kidman and Yahya Abdull-Mateen II are also in talks to joining the cast as Aquaman’s mother and the popular villain Black Manta respectively. Patrick Wilson Cast as Ocean Master in Aquaman Film

Yesterday,  The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Patrick Wilson will be playing Arthur Curry’s brother, Ocean Master/Orm Curry, in the standalone Aquaman film.   For those who aren’t familiar with his previous work, Patrick Wilson portrayed Nite Owl in the 2009 live action adaptation of the Watchmen.    He will star alongside Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Amber Heard (Mera).  The film is set to premiere in theaters on October 5, 2018.


The Flash Movie Loses Its Director

Switching things up to DC Comics/Warner Bros. Last Friday, The Hollywood Reporter made a post that the upcoming Flash movie starring Ezra Miller lost Seth Grahame-Smith aka the director of the film. The reason being “creative differences” going by their post. This is interesting given that they lost the first Wonder Woman director. Now they’re losing the first Flash director.
