Kamen Rider Amazons Season 1 Review

Hey, I am actually talking about current Toku and in its entirety! Only because this was like thirteen episodes long and I had a blast with it (not the way you are expecting though). I will say a quick way to say my opinions on this show is how I describe Shadow the Hedgehog, EDGE LORD! Now I am fine with edgy shows or premises here. Recently I just finished Zero Time Dilemma and that game is full of death, betrayal, misery, and chaos. Amazons clearly has all of thoseRead More

Choujinki Metalder Review

Just like with anime, current Toku has been giving me some issues lately. I still liked some of the Kamen Riders like Wizard and Gaim, but with Drive and Ghost I lost interest. The last great Sentai for me was Gokaiger, but I will admit watching Kyoryuger still felt like it was worth my time. After Kyoryuger, I gave up on Toqger not even half way and Ninninger got no interests from me at all. I am hearing great things about the recent show from my good friend Fantasy Leader,Read More

KamenSentai’s Hurricane Polymar Review

Well it has been a long time since I have reviewed something that was not Toku related in general, but I did say I am going to do more posts like these to help my writing in general. For this review I actually got back into anime which is a shocker for me since it has been rather hard to get into it for myself. My problem was I kept looking for what was new and did not look back. Then I remember the video game, Tatsunoko VS Capcom andRead More

Shuriken Sentai Ninninger – Episode 45 Review

As much as I enjoyed this episode, I am slightly annoyed that they named it ‘Three Generations of Fathers and Sons! All Ninjas Gathered’ but the actual gathering only happened in the last few seconds. Still, at least it made for a good cliffhanger. For two weeks in a row now, Shuriken Sentai Ninninger has been on amazing form. It looks as if they’ve been saving the best for last and given that there’s no more filler let to get through, they’ve been able to go to town on wrapping up the remaining plot threadsRead More

Shuriken Sentai Ninninger – Episode 44 Review

Wow. Seriously, wow. That was by far one of the best Ninninger episodes I’ve seen in quite a few months. Usually the series moves along at a fairly average level of quality that only slightly goes up or down from week to week, but the jump up from 43 to 44 is incredible. This episode really did feel like the beginning of the end, and despite having a few flaws here and there, it was overall an excellent half-hour of toku. It’s rare that I ever talk about the directionRead More

Shuriken Sentai Ninninger – Episode 43 Review

After Drive, Ninja Red and Hurricane Red, and Jiraiya, you know what Ninninger could really do with? More crossovers. This episode stars Shurikenger in the role of a powerful ninja master who gets the team to reflect on what they’ve learned, which basically equates to a clip show. I’ve always praised the way in which Ninninger has portrayed the characters’ development from students to masters but this episode just seemed a little too on the nose for my liking. This very same idea has been done before much better thanRead More

Shuriken Sentai Ninninger – Episode 41 Review

One of Ninninger‘s great strengths, and the reason why I keep watching, is the way it handles its character arcs. Although some of the individual episodes recently haven’t been particularly engaging, the overall progression of the heroes from students to masters has been immensely satisfying to watch. Their growth has been conveyed in a variety of ways, from gaining new abilities to learning moral lessons. This episode, Ninninger 41, highlighted another subtle way in which the characters have been made to seem wiser and stronger: their relationship with their mentor. It’sRead More

My Favorite Games of 2015

I will say for gaming, even though this was a pretty good year, I still personally loved last year better. There was just more for me that year and Bayonetta 2 and Smash 4 came out which have became some of my favorite games in general. This clearly was the year that indie developers got to shine again as there were some big deals going on with Shovel Knight since he got an Amiibo which was a surprise. For once it did feel like some indie developers were dancing withRead More
