30 Days of Godzilla – Day 19: Favorite Origin for Godzilla and Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992) Review

30 Days of Godzilla: Day 19: Favorite Origin for Godzilla: Probably the Original (the mostly used one) and the Heisei era. Both give a strong sense of tragedy for the Godzilla(s). A sense of suffering and how humanity was the creation of this destructive beast (Heisei’s though is a little out there but still gets the point across). 30 Days of Godzilla- Review: Gojira tai Mosura aka Godzilla vs. Mothra aka Godzilla and Mothra: The Battle For Earth aka Japanese Indiana Jones and the Moth of the Cosmos: Featuring GodzillaRead More

30 Days of Godzilla – Day 18: Best Millennia Movie and Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991) Review

30 Days of Godzilla: Day 18: Best Millennia Movie: I’m not sure, I guess maybe Godzilla 2000: Millennium, Godzilla against MechaGodzilla or Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., I guess I lean more on Godzilla 2000: Millennium. 30 Days of Godzilla- Review: Gojira tai Kingu Gidora aka Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah 1991: After Godzilla vs. Biollante didn’t perform well financially, actually being a loss, Producer, Tanaka, was convinced that the way to get Godzilla revitalized was to bring back Toho’s iconic monsters and bring them to the modern era. In came perhaps one of Godzilla’sRead More

Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger – Episode 29 Review

Part two kicked off with some pretty intense one-on-one battles between the Zyuohgers and Gokaigers. This opening was full of fun little moments, like Misao being upset that he had nobody to fight, or Aka Ranger fighting Zyuoh Eagle. Speaking of which, I’ve never seen Sentai do suit damage before, but Zyuoh Eagle looked pretty wrecked by the end. My favourite moment though had to be when Captain Marvelous raised his gun, paused, then fired. Any other Sentai red would have launched into some big speech before pulling the triggerRead More

30 Days of Godzilla – Day 17: Favorite Mothra Song and Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989) Review

30 Days of Godzilla: Day 17: Favorite Mothra Song: All of them? They all are nice listens. In particular the ones sung by The Peanuts and the 90’s Godzilla vs. Mothra and Rebirth of Mothra trilogy. [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfeC-w7SUbM] 30 Days of Godzilla- Review: Gojira tai Biorante aka Godzilla vs. Biollante 1989: The idea of a sequel to The Return of Godzilla seemed rather unlikely, even Producer, Tomoyuki Tanaka was skeptical. The Return of Godzilla didn’t really garner much financial benefit. Also the failure of King Kong Lives that was releasedRead More

30 Days of Godzilla – Day 16: First Movie You Ever Watched and The Return of Godzilla (1984) Review

30 Days of Godzilla: Day 16: First Movie You Ever Watched: The first movie I watched was Godzilla: King of the Monsters. There was a VHS at Toys “R” Us and I thought Godzilla was so cool looking. The second one was also from the same store, with Godzilla vs. Megalon. Talk about a mood whiplash, but the kid me didn’t care and enjoyed both. 30 Days of Godzilla- Review: Gojira (1984) aka Godzilla(1984) Godzilla 1984 aka The Return of Godzilla 1984: After Terror of MechaGodzilla didn’t perform well in theaters,Read More

30 Days of Godzilla – Day 15: Best Millennia Series Fight and Terror of MechaGodzilla (1975) Review

30 Days of Godzilla: Day 15: Best Millennia Series Fight: The ones that come to mind for me are Godzilla vs. Kiryu in both Godzilla against MechaGodzilla and Tokyo S.O.S there was something about the intensity of those fights that made me interested. The climatic battle in Godzilla 2000 and Godzilla vs. Megaguirus had some nice charm to them. 30 Days of Godzilla- Review: Mekagojira no Gyakushuu aka Counterattack of Mechagodzilla aka Terror of MechaGodzilla 1975: Like Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla, I love this film.
